How It Works — Microsoft Quick Assist

Quick Assist is Microsoft's built-in remote help tool. It's already on your Windows 11 PC, and free from the Microsoft Store on Windows 10. No licence, no third-party software, no strings attached.

You stay in control

You see every click we make in real time. You can take back control or end the session with one click at any moment.

End-to-end encrypted

The connection is encrypted by Microsoft — and there's no permanent software installed. Once the session closes, we have no further access to your PC.

No install needed

Quick Assist is already on every Windows 11 PC. On Windows 10, you install it once from the Microsoft Store — a 15-second download.

Fast resolution

Most software issues are fixed in 20–40 minutes. Faster than the drive to Midland, and you can keep working on the machine the whole time if you want.

What to Do When You Call Us

Ring us on 08 9250 4554. While we're on the phone, we'll walk you through the steps — but here's the whole process up front so you can see what to expect.

1

Open Quick Assist

On Windows 11, press the Start button and type "Quick Assist", then press Enter. On Windows 10, if it's not already installed, open the Microsoft Store, search "Quick Assist" and click Install. It's free.

2

Click "Get help"

When Quick Assist opens, you'll see two options: Get help and Help someone. Click Get help — that's the customer side.

3

Enter the 6-digit code we give you

We'll read you a 6-digit security code over the phone. Type it into the box and click Submit.

4

Confirm you want to share

Windows will show a confirmation screen with our technician's name. Read it, click Allow, and the session starts. We can now see your screen.

5

Watch us work

We'll walk you through the fix as we do it. You'll see everything we click — there are no hidden actions. If you want us to stop, close the session window at any time.

6

Payment at the end

Once we've confirmed the issue is fixed, we take payment over the phone (card) and the session closes. No subscription, no ongoing access, no "phone home" software.

⚠ Scam warning

We will never cold-call you and ask for remote access. We will never ask for your online banking password or tell you there's a "virus detected" that needs urgent payment. If someone rings you out of the blue claiming to be from Microsoft, Telstra, or PC Madness — hang up and call our number directly to verify. Real remote sessions always start with you calling us.

Request a Remote Session

Can't call right now? Send us a request and we'll ring you back during business hours (Mon–Fri 8am–4pm) to set up the session.
